Are you adept Fitter/ Welder Fabricator seeking an exciting opportunity to lead our team? Look no further! Our esteemed Engineering workshop, located in Auckland, is eagerly searching for a skilled individual to join our bustling team known for its commitment to excellence. Depending on experience remuneration starts at a minimum of $29.66- $38 per hour, at least 40hours per week.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of 3 years experience in fabrication or welding
- At least 3 years experience in the automotive, transport and engineering industry
- Proficiency in communication, organization, and time-management skills.
- A clean full Class 1 licence; while a Heavy Traffic (HT) licence is advantageous, it’s not mandatory.
- A strong dedication to Health & Safety protocols
Duties include:
- To assist in the truck body builds and repairs of customer vehicles
- Ensure that all appropriate records are updated and documented
- Ensure both work and personal maintenance is to the highest standard
- Vehicles that are worked on are maintained to the manufacturers specifications and standards

The Role
As an Automotive Prep Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and readiness of our new trucks. Your responsibilities will include:
· Complete Pre-Delivery Inspections on New Trucks
· Inspect and fit out all new trucks
· Fit accessories such as sunvisors, stoneguards, ali bumpers etc…
· Assist with minor vehicle defects
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking individuals with the following qualities and skills
· Demonstrated organisational skills
· Excellent customer service and communication skills
· Class 2-4 Heavy Truck license is a must
· Mechanical aptitude and a genuine interest in the industry
· Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions
· Professional representation of the company’s culture and values
· Basic knowledge and experience associated with heavy automotive maintenance and repair.
